What controls are available to mitigate risk?

Certification, regular inspection, pre-use inspections and maintenance of lifting equipment; including but not limited to cranes, chain falls, tuggers, hoists, and jacks

Proper lift/job planning. Obtain necessary approvals and permits prior to lifting, especially over process equipment

Utilized documented and approved lifting plans; make sure the proper level of authority has reviewed and approved the plan

Use signs and physical barriers to restrict access under loads. Make sure personnel are aware of company policies on load handling
