Hierarchy of Hazard Controls
Hazards and risk can be managed by applying a hierarchy of controls. The following table lists the hierarchy of controls that should be considered in the order of their effectiveness.
The most effective control (elimination of the hazard) is listed first through the least effective control (PPE, or, Use of Personal Protective Equipment).
